It isn't often that we see snow mold in the Valley, but then, it isn't often that we see so much snow! Gray snow mold and pink snow mold are more properly known to turfgrass pathologists as Microdochium patch, and this disease occurs quite commonly in the Pacific Northwest. Because snow mold favors very cool temperatures, conditions after snow melt often favor heavy damage from this fungus.
